Beverage cartons

Beverage cartons are packaging for non-gaseous drinks and other foodstuffs such as milk, juice, yoghurt, sauces and puddings. Relatively new uses for beverage cartons include crushed tomatoes, and semi-finished products for waffle and pancake mixes. Recycling and recovery rates for beverage cartons rose by seven per cent to 71 per cent in 2006. Annual consumption is about 750 million cartons in Norway, which means that each Norwegian must get rid of 160 cartons in the course of a year.
