Grønt Punkt Norge - recycling used packaging in Norway
Grønt Punkt Norge AS ("Green Dot Norway plc") is a privately owned non-profit company responsible for financing the recovery and recycling of used packaging on behalf of the industrial sector.
Plastic from households
Each year we seem to set new records for material recycling of plastic packaging from households, as more local authorities encourage residents to sort their waste. Increasingly, municipalities are also introducing pick-up schemes.
Carton packaging comprises boxes and containers that are not made of solid or corrugated cardboard, such as those that have contained cereal, biscuits, frozen pizza, toys and electronic components.
Plastic from industry
Approximately 75 per cent of all plastic from packaging collected in Norway through Grønt Punkt Norge is generated by trade and industry sectors.
Beverage cartons are packaging for non-gaseous drinks and other foodstuffs such as milk, juice, yoghurt, sauces and puddings.
